Vista has proven its success in helping young adults achieve meaningful adult lives that include work, independence and friendship. Your gift can help further these efforts and directly impact the life of a young man or woman challenged by disabilities. There are ways to in which your gift will have a significant effect.
Immediate Use
Vista has many programs for giving where donations are used to support programs and services right now. Whether you want to support Vista in carrying out its mission, make a gift so students and members can get some “extras”, or wish to support members who struggle to afford the services they need, Vista has a donation program to fit.
-
Annual Appeal: Monies donated to Vista’s Annual Appeal support the overall services and training. These donations help keep the quality of services. Gifts to the Annual Appeal provide immediate results by supporting additional and improved services to our students and members. To give to the Annual Appeal, click on the button…
-
Tribute: Vista’s Tribute program can be participated in a variety of ways. For one, you can distribute specially Vista-provided “Tribute” cards to your friends and family asking them to consider making a donation to Vista in honor of you or a special occasion in your life (like a birthday or anniversary rather than purchasing you a gift). A second way to utilize Vista’s Tribute program is to make a gift yourself in honor or memory of a friend or loved one and/or their special occasion. For more information or to participate in Vista’s Tribute program, contact the Development Department at Vista to obtain your Tribute cards.
-
Student/Member Discretionary Fund: This fund was established in 2006 to help Vista provide some of the “extras” that enhance the lives of students and members. This fund has provided large immediate benefits to students and members by underwriting events, items and activities that are not typically offered such as Vista’s Semi-Annual Variety Show, purchasing outdoor furniture for Vista’s main campus, and a Smartboard to enhance training activities. The fund can also make a huge difference in just one life, like the time it was used to purchase a microwave for a member who couldn’t afford a new one.
-
Edward Gallant Financial Aid Fund: Vista has a Financial Aid fund that provides financial support towards program fees for Outreach and Community Support members who are having difficulty affording needed services. Financial Aid is based on financial need, and is granted to Outreach members who apply and are found to be in the greatest need. This fund is named after one of Vista's great champions, Edward Gallant who fought his whole life for those in need.
Long Term Gifts
An organization that only operates from one year to the next is like a family living from paycheck to paycheck; it works for now, but is not a sustainable foundation for the future. Gifts and pledges to our long term funds offers Vista students, members and families the peace of mind to know Vista will be around for the long term.
-
Vista Endowment Fund: Vista established an endowment fund to provide a foundation and security for the future. Like most endowments, donations are conservatively invested for long term use, and a percentage of the income produced from these investments may be awarded to Vista annually. In this way donations are not just received and spent, but rather a strong financial foundation is built. Vista’s Endowment Fund is currently over $1 million strong, and the goal is to build it to $5 million by 2014.

Planned Gifts Vista’s Legacy Society: While Vista is a lifelong program for our students and members, often our donors want to help Vista be there after they are gone. Including Vista’s Endowment Fund in your Will or Estate Plan can help Vista keep that promise of being there when you cannot be. All donors who inform Vista that they have included a gift to the Vista Endowment Fund in their Will or in their Estate Plans become members of Vista’s Legacy Society.
