Student Profile

  • Students come to Vista from across the United States. Some have participated in special education classes in mainstream high schools, others have graduated from high schools designed for individuals with disabilities. It is not necessary for a student to have graduduated from high school.
  • Students are 18 years old or older
  • Students have a neurological disability such as autism spectrum disorder, brain injury, learning disability, pervasive developmental disability, or seizure disorder.
  • Most students' disabilities have affected their progress at school and impeded development of social skills. 
  • Most, although they are chronologically adults, function as adolescents. They are just beginning to establish their adult identity, think about a career, and develop meaningful relationships.
