First Step: Receive Information from Vista
-
Interested individuals can receive an information packet by calling Vista at 860-399-8080 or using this form.
Second Step: Visit Vista
-
A visit to the Vista campus and community is a great way to learn more about what Vista does and who we are. Potential students and families can schedule a tour and personal visit with Vista’s Director of Admissions by calling 860 399 8080 or emailing Bobbi Guercia at bguercia@vistavocational.org
Third Step: Apply to Vista
-
In order to be accepted into Vista, a potential student must first go through the application process. There are several parts to this process. Vista wants to have an in depth understanding of the student before he/she is accepted so that we know that we are the right match! Therefore, the potential student must attend a five day evaluation visit as part of the acceptance application process.
The five-day vocational and life skills evaluation visit is arranged for the prospective student to determine the interest and readiness of the individual for acceptance as well as to determine the proper level of training and housing if the student were to enter. The applicant spends five days and four nights at the Vista Residence where he/she is evaluated by staff on his/her functional ability in a variety of skills to live independently and work successfully.
In order to start this process, a one-page initial application and deposit for the evaluation visit is submitted.
Upon receipt of the initial application, Vista admissions department will schedule the five day evaluation visit and notify the potential student and family. Vista will send the potential student and family a comprehensive application packet which must be completed prior to the evaluation dates.
Fourth Step: Acceptance Notification
-
Within 1 week of the completion of the evaluation visit, the applicant and family will be notified of Vista’s acceptance decision.
Fifth Step: Applicant Decision
-
Upon acceptance, the potential student and family sign and return the agreement form along with an identified deposit amount. This deposit amount will hold an opening and formalize the student’s entrance. Soon after, the student will hear from Vista’s program staff via a Welcome Packet and conversations about an exact start date!
