Welcome to Vista’s website! Your interest is very much appreciated. We encourage you to explore this site to get to know us better. We are proud of our students and members and their accomplishments and we are proud of all we do to assist them in achieving independence!
Central to Vista’s philosophy is the knowledge that the spirit, talents, and hopes of our students are the strengths upon which to build. At Vista, a person’s disability is not the defining factor for the individual, whether it is called an autism spectrum disorder, a learning disability, epilepsy, or traumatic brain injury. Instead, perseverance, resilience, and self-confidence are key.
During Vista’s twenty-year history we have developed a top tier educational model that blends direct instruction, individual counseling, and experiential learning. This model has proven very effective with individuals with a wide range of neurological disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.
Vista has many advantages that make it so appealing to families: our caring, experienced, and skillful staff; our safe, convenient campus along the beautiful Connecticut shoreline; good access to transportation; and our commitment to serving the long-term needs of our members, to name a few.
Consider Vista your partner in facing the future and meeting the challenges of adulthood and independent life. Vista is the best next step for young men and women on the path to an adult identity and adult achievement. We look forward to sharing with you our accomplishments and aspirations and discussing with you how we can help young adults with disabilities achieve their dreams.
I would also like to extend a special Thank You to Essex Savings Bank and New Alliance Foundation for their financial support in the development of this website.
